We’ve created the SolShare, the world’s only hardware for connecting rooftop solar to flats.

We believe everyone should have the power to reduce their electricity bill and carbon footprint. With the SolShare, that’s possible.

For too long rooftop solar has been reserved for people that live in their own detached house, leaving those in apartment buildings missing out.

The SolShare is the world’s only hardware
that can connect multiple flats to a shared
rooftop solar system.

This proven technology enables a
single rooftop solar system to be optimally
shared by everyone in the building.

Achieve your sustainability goals while reducing the energy bills for each resident with a SolShare - The simple and affordable solution to apartment solar.

About the SolShare

Optimised Solar Delivery to the Flats
The SolShare monitors the energy demand of every flat in the building and automatically delivers the solar energy to where it’s going to be used.

By delivering the solar to the flats that are using energy at that specific moment in time, the solar energy is consumed within the building rather than being exported to the grid.

The optimised solar delivery results in the highest possible savings and biggest carbon reduction for every apartment in the building. The SolShare also makes sure everything is fair, by making sure that the same quantity of solar is delivered to every flat over the course of each month.

Simplicity in the Solution
The beauty of the SolShare is that it’s simple.

The SolShare is installed alongside traditional electricity metering infrastructure at the apartment building’s main switchboard. Apartment access is not required and residents can still choose whichever retailer they like for their grid energy. There’s no requirement for residents to sign up to anything or trade solar via blockchain or anything complicated like that.

Put simply, the residents won’t even notice that a SolShare system’s been installed – apart from when they see their significantly reduced electricity bill!

It’s this simplicity that has made the SolShare the go-to choice for Social Housing Providers and Property Developers.

Achieve your Sustainability Goals
For too long, the only solution to apartment solar was to connect it to the landlord supply. This often results in the solar being wasted, as the excess can’t be used by the flats and is simply exported to the grid.

The SolShare provides you with the opportunity to connect every flat in the building as well as the landlord supply to a shared rooftop solar system.

This is vital for achieving sustainability targets, including those in SAP 10 that require each flat to be connected directly to solar in order to gain the sustainability credits.

Each year, a typical SolShare will

35 MWh
produce 35 MWh of electricity

35 – 40 %
reduce grid-energy use by 35 – 40 %

28 tonnes
stop 28 tonnes of CO2 emissions

Case studies

Eveleigh, New South Wales

City West Housing is a leading Community Housing Provider in NSW. They connected rooftop solar to 226 apartments in three apartment complexes in their portfolio with Allume’s SolShare technology.

Bulimba, Queensland

Waterline Crescent apartments is an airy strata-titled apartment complex of 18 residences overlooking the Brisbane River just northeast of the Brisbane CBD. The body corporate decided to retrofit solar panels to improve the sustainability of the building, and chose Allume’s SolShare technology to connect solar to each apartment.

Botany, New South Wales

Botany Apartments is a community comprising 23 upmarket townhouses and 4 apartments that embraced smart energy technologies including shared solar.

Bayview, New South Wales

This apartment complex comprising multiple buildings overlooks beautiful Pittwater in Sydney’s north. In 2020 the apartment community decided to install rooftop solar to reduce electricity bills and dependence on the grid.

Tullamore Folia, Doncaster, Victoria

Committed to creating sustainable living environments for residents to enjoy, Mirvac have implemented forefront technology in Folia allowing the Prestige and Penthouse Apartment residents to share a single set of solar panels and distribute solar power in a manner that optimises the financial benefit to all connected residences.
